Thinking about all of those on the East coast.  Stay safe!

And here are some more of my 5th grade students' collages.

A few more painted page collages..

Hmm... not much to say today.

Here are a few more painted page collages.  I had made some from leftover painted paper scraps from my art classroom.. My students made some collages after printing papers with Gelli plates.  We also watched Jane Davies' new video for inspiration.

Here are a few of THEIR artworks.. these were made by 5th and 6th graders:

Fall Fearless and Fly: Prompt #2

Headline Prompt:  Taking a Chance:  When did you take a chance or a leap of faith?  How did it turn out?  What did you learn?
Color Prompt:  What color do you like least? Use it!
Quote Prompt:  "Don't refuse to go on an occasional wild goose chase -- that's what wild geese are for." Anonymous

I took the phrase "leap of faith" literally.

This page is in my double fold out book.. each side opens up and it becomes a four page spread.

Painted Paper Collage using the Gelli Plates

Here is a scrap collage I made this weekend.  I had been playing around with my Gelli plates at school. The 5th and 6th graders are using them to make lots of textured painted papers and then we are cutting them up into collages.  I made lots of samples for demonstration and to test out different techniques.  I took the scraps home and arranged them in my journal as a collage.

I have been absolutely blown away to the response to our Fall Fearless and Fly Challenge.  It is not too late to join us.  There are many more prompts to come!

Lettering Practice from a Bible Verse

Here is another page with a lot of layers.  The idea came from a challenge at Word Art Wednesday... from quite a while ago.  I had started this page and then didn't finish it in time.

I was excited to see this in my blog reader today!  I so want to sign up for the LifeBook class for next year.  GIVEAWAY FROM WILD SOUL ARTS! FREE SEAT IN LIFE BOOK 2013 and FIVE OTHER PRIZE PACKAGES!

I created these printable drawing prompts for children.  You can see a free sample on my other blog and purchase them for $5.  Art teachers, parents and classroom teachers have purchased them as an easy way to bring drawing to their children.

The future

This is a journal page which I made for the Fall Fearless and Fly Challenge.  Here are the prompts:

Headline Prompt:  Inventing the Future:  Where do you want to be 5, 10, 15 years from now.  What's holding you back?  What's propelling you forward?  What do you need to do or stop doing to create your future?
Color Prompt:  Warm colors (reds, oranges, pinks, yellows)
Quote Prompt:  "The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time."  Abraham Lincoln
I chose to use the Quote Prompt in this page.  What a great quote!  I had this old page that I didn't like so much, so I reworked the page.
