Painted Paper Collage using the Gelli Plates

Here is a scrap collage I made this weekend.  I had been playing around with my Gelli plates at school. The 5th and 6th graders are using them to make lots of textured painted papers and then we are cutting them up into collages.  I made lots of samples for demonstration and to test out different techniques.  I took the scraps home and arranged them in my journal as a collage.

I have been absolutely blown away to the response to our Fall Fearless and Fly Challenge.  It is not too late to join us.  There are many more prompts to come!

Nice! I haven't seen the gelli plates here yet (The Netherlands), but I hope some smart person will import them.

totally enjoyed your description and 'anatomy' of the journal page. My medium is usually fabric so learning and reading about paper and paints and gelli?? is all new to me and a way to expand my horizons!

Art teacher was my inspiration when young and due to her I still continue to do Art. A great outlet to let ones inspiration to flow...

Super layout and designer journal pages! I will have to google gelli plates because it looks inviting. Your collages are great. We are trying to get the nursing home residents into making collaged door hangers. I will present this idea when I volunteer next week.

I so want to come and be a kid in your art class! How cool to be using Gelli plates. Your collages are so vibrant and free! I am taking this as a sign from the Universe that I need to be using my Gelli plate for my next play time. I am so excited to see what all the wonderful people make for Fall Fearless and Fly- it is so inspiring to see everyone's different interpretations of the prompts!
