Organic Shapes, Dots and Doodles

What is your definition of an art journal page?  Do you consider mixed media collages (even without words) to be art journal pages?

My students at school saw me making this and they were so excited.  "Wow!  Can we make something like this?"

The Molotow Paint Marker in white is my new favorite marker!  It wrote over all these paint layers really well.  When I ordered it through that link above, I received a box of 6 markers (I think).  I don't know if that was a mistake and if it was only supposed to be one, but I was only expecting one marker.

That white certainly makes the page sing. An art journal page is anything you want it to be, some of the most stunning pages I have ever seen have no words.

An art journal page is any page in my art journal, whatever I choose to put on it :)

gorgeous Marcia! I love the deep rich colored background and how the white outlining really brings out the wonderful doodled images.

this is a fun technique . I like to add tons of dots with the marker - it is easy to apply light or heavy pressure to achieve varying results. Pretty work.

I consider everything that is inside my art journal to be art journaling, the journaling is the art or vice verse... :-) Loooove these drawings, such lovely patterns and colours. Mmm!

beautiful! awesome colors! i think even doodling and color without words can be cathartic and energizing, so i think anything where you're moving art ideas from the imagination out onto the surface can be included in an art journal!
